PAYMENT POLICY

Payment for 100% of the total must be made at the latest thirty days before the agreed date in which the services of BURBAYAR are to begin. In all cases, the total cost of the tour must be paid before the tour starts.

FORMS OF PAYMENT

Payments may be done in cash, by bank deposit or international bank transfer if the client is outside the territory of Panama.

RETURNS POLICY

In case the client decides to cancel a reservation for reasons unrelated to Burbayar and this takes place fifteen days or more before the agreed date in which the services of BURBAYAR are to begin, the totality of the payment will be returned. If the cancellation occurs less than fifteen days before the agreed date in which the services of BURBAYAR are to begin, no return will be made and BURBAYAR holds the right to keep the payment.

BURBAYAR holds the right to cancel the agreed tour anytime, in which case the totality of the payment made by the client for services will be returned.

BAGGAGE POLICY

Given that Burbayar is in an area of difficult access, where only specialised four-wheel drive vehicles can reach, we have specific limitations on the amount of baggage our guests can bring. We allow a maximum of 40 pounds / 18 kilos of luggage per passenger or 200 pounds / 91 kilos per group of five. If a client, for whichever reason, needs to carry baggage beyond this limit he/she must notify us beforehand. Burbayar holds the right to charge for an additional trip to carry this luggage or equipment.

TRANSPORT POLICY

Transport to the Burbayar Lodge will be done only in specialised four-wheel drive vehicles (*). Up to five guests, plus driver, will travel in a single vehicle. Six to ten guests, plus driver, will travel in two vehicles. Eleven guests or more will travel in three vehicles.

In case a group of five guests assigned to one vehicle desire to travel in two vehicles in order to have more space, an additional charge will be made and this must be notified fifteen days before the start of the tour.

(*) Vehicles used by Burbayar are authorised by the manufacturer for transporting six passengers plus driver (a total of 7), including baggage space. This guarantees a comfortable trip for our guests.

POLICY REGARDING CHILDREN

For safety reasons, Burbayar is not a suitable place for children under 12.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Anyone contracting tours or services with BURBAYAR must sign a RELEASE OF LIABILITY before the start of the tour/services. BURBAYAR will take all reasonable measures necessary to assure its client’s safety, but it cannot guarantee their safety. Guests may participate in walks, expeditions, incursions, treks, hikes and observations of plant and animal life in mountain jungle and difficult access settings, as well as cave exploration, visits to indigenous communities, navigation in kayaks and boats and/or any other activity inherent to the services offered by BURBAYAR related to adventure tourism, exploration and direct contact with nature, which take place in completely natural settings. Therefore BURBAYAR cannot control the presence or behaviour of birds and other animals, the climate, the conditions of water and others, including third persons during our tours.

For the aforementioned reasons, Burbayar, its board of directors, directors, agents, lawyers, employees, staff, guides, participants and/or volunteers will not be held responsible for damages, lesions and/or injuries that could occur during activities carried out in tours. Users of our services will assume all risks inherent to adventure, jungle exploration and rural difficult access exploration activities. Guests have the responsibility to behave with due diligence.
